Blending Operators

Job description

Purpose of job

  • Blending raw materials correctly, following a formulation provided by the Quality Department and be responsible for maximizing quality and productivity. Draw samples from mix for analytical testing.
  • Complete paperwork and any associated administrative tasks related to the blending, from updating records to show what’s been completed to noting any issues.
  • Set up select and weigh correctly each raw material required
  • Use counter balance FLT
  • Identify blending issues, monitor and record progress of each blend, identify issues in a timely manner and proactively find ways to resolve them so that deadlines are still met without compromising quality.
  • Clean down of the blending plant to the required standard in line with cross contamination analytical testing.
  • Enforcing Regulation must follow Company policies, and ensure Health and Safety regulations are being enforced to meet safety compliance.
  • Time management, be able to follow a tight schedule to meet daily targets.
  • Flushing of the DI plant system.
  • Support line packing activity / production support as required
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the business

Health, Safety & Environment:

  • Ensure adherence to, and the improvement of, the organisation’s Health, Safety & Environment policies.
  • Ensures the Site’s operating practices result in minimal environmental impacts and that all practices are compliant with all applicable regulations.
  • Manual handling up to 25kg
  • Working in noisy and dusty environment. PPE will be provided
  • Excellent good housekeeping ethic essential

Efficiency/Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and propose new solutions which will enable the Site to improve its efficiency.

Person Specification

Desirable Personal Qualities:

  • A passion for accuracy with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Mechanically minded.
  • Experience of working in compliance of a quality system ISO9001.
  • Experience of using ERP
  • Computer literate
  • GCSE’S Maths and English grade A-C
  • Salary subject to relevant experience.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Understanding of how to work safely with chemicals
  • FLT licence.
